Facilities Maintenance Worker

Snelling Staffing Services is looking for a Facility Maintenance Worker $15.00+ hr DOE with interest in joining a maintenance team at an automotive plant on the south side of San Antonio.

Facilities Maintenance Worker

Under direct supervision, is responsible for routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment and machinery of assigned building; and performs other duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains buildings, equipment and machinery

  • Assists in construction, remodeling and renovation work

  • Repairs and maintains plumbing and drainage systems

  • Replaces and/or repairs metal security ceiling tile, acoustical ceiling tile, vinyl floor tile, ceramic tile and windows

  • Performs preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems

  • May perform other maintenance duties as assigned

  • Replaces and/or repairs electrical wiring, switches and light bulbs;

  • Documents work performed

  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate, and four (4) years' experience in commercial building equipment repairs and maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Good knowledge of commercial building equipment repairs and maintenance including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, electronics and HVAC systems; good knowledge of all related tools and equipment; good knowledge of safety standards and practices

  • Skill in operating all related tools and equipment

  • Ability to perform a variety of maintenance functions; ability to read and follow instructions; ability to calculate time and material estimates; ability to exercise independent judgment when necessary; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, and outside agencies

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver's license

  • May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek

  • Must be available extra hours, holidays, weekends and other shifts
