Production Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Manager will manage the production areas to achieve predetermined performance metrics by providing leadership, coordination and monitoring of operational processes, functions and governance. This includes managing  of the  operational staff, monitoring and reporting daily/monthly/quarterly productivity. 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage 25+ direct reports, coach and grow employees to achieve maximum effectiveness of all efforts
  • Plan, organize, direct and participate in daily production activities 
  • Lead production schedule reviews with all necessary stakeholders 
  • Collaborate to proactively address competing schedule priorities 
  • continuously monitor production floor metrics and lead improvement efforts   
  • Work with engineering and other departments, to improve productivity methods 
  • Lead, develop, implement and sustain a training program for all production employees 
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices 
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans and determining resource needs 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA/BS Degree technical field or equivalent related manufacturing experience and or MBA 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience and or 3+years of Production Management Experience 
  • Experience working in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude  (i.e intuitive understanding of production processes) 
  • Experience working with ERP or related sysyem
