Supply Chain Specialist


Snelling Staffing is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for a distribution company located in Louisville, KY. The central role will be to manage, facilitate and coordinate all order and invoice related activities. Primary liaison between customers, supply chain, foreign production sites, freight forwarders, Sales and Marketing, & Finance.

Pay: $14 – $16/hr.

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate, complete and timely management of customer orders for assigned markets by managing the entire life cycle from order to cash.
  • Support Supply Chain Initiatives and department metrics.
  • Key liaison with internal and external customers, field sales, production sites, warehousing personnel to support supply chain business strategy.
  • Ensure electronic data interchange of customers purchase orders flow smoothly into systems. This includes timely set-up of data tables, provide accurate information to the customer for their table set-ups to keep work-flow errors to a minimum.
  • Prepares commercial/proforma invoices for bank drafts, letters of credit or cash advance customers.
  • Ensures orders are in compliance with Letter of Credit requirements, published pricing and established incoterms with regards to buyers and sellers’ responsibilities.
  • Manages and coordinates all special Customs documents, for clearance of shipments to be compliant with US and foreign government regulations.
  • Collaborates across multiple shipping facilities to consolidate POS and finished goods shipments.
  • Responsible for maintaining current customer information profiles.
  • Manages special assignments as required, such as ad hoc reporting.

Education and Training. 

  • High School Diploma with 2-4 years of combined customer service, logistics, or supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic principles of Logistics and Distribution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with internal/external customers and all global contacts.
  • Ability to effectively handle confidential information and materials.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to apply logical assumptions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, supply chain procedures and processes.
  • Independently manage, plan and organize, workload within established deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to handle detailed information and ambiguous information with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Actively seeks and embraces change.
  • ERP experience with NAV and/or SAP
