Home Health Caregivers


Snelling is currently interviewing for in-home caregivers for a well-established company in San Antonio.  The Caregiver’s primary function is to provide personal assistance services to the consumer in their place of residence; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with the consumer and family, and share observations and problems with the supervisor.

Job Duties include but are not limited to the following:
-Assisting customers with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and getting to and from activities and meals according to the individual service plan.
-Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside of the home (accompanies customers to errands and appointments).
– Assist with mealtimes and snacks encouraging customers to eat a proper diet and intake adequate fluids.
-Maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment for the customers: performs general housekeeping- assisting with laundry, bedroom upkeep, and general upkeep of essential living areas (bedrooms, dining area, kitchen, laundry, and any other living areas as needed).
– Maintains customers’ records daily in a timely manner in accordance with company policy and procedures; helps administer medications where applicable, reports any incidents and significant observations to the supervisor.

The ideal Caregiver will have strong people skills; good command of the English language, both written and spoken; and be able to follow written and verbal instructions effectively. Competent to perform tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Environmental and Working Conditions:
Works in consumer’s residence in various conditions; possible exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious disease; ability to work a flexible schedule; to travel locally; and some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and Mental Effort: Prolonged standing and walking are required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move customers. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines, identify consumer needs, make quick decisions and meet consumer/family psychosocial needs.  Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to utilize durable medical equipment in the home.  Occasionally work in stressful situations.

Job Qualifications: Education:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Possess current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current car insurance
  • Provide proof of education and/or experience to perform tasks as assigned
