Snelling San Antonio has an immediate need for Insurance Verification Specialists to join a medical clinic near San Pedro and 281. The Insurance Verification Specialist will be working to ensure that patients’ healthcare benefits cover required procedures. This will require contacting the patient’s insurance company to verify coverage levels and communicate with individuals to educate them on their benefits information.

 

• Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Job Type: Full-time
• $15.00+ DOE per hour (Paid Weekly!)

Skills and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous customer service via the phone
• Previous billing experience (Preferred)
• Familiarity with medical terminology (Preferred)
• Work experience with insurance companies (Preferred)
• Clear communication skills
• Detail-oriented focus

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Insurance verification: 2 years (Required)
• Medical billing: 2 years (Preferred)

Tasks:

• Verifying insurance coverage of each patient
• Handling payments for services not covered by insurance
• Explaining coverages to patients
• Obtaining referrals for patients when they are not covered
• Updating patient information/keeping records
• Filling out the documentation required for billing
