FOOD PREP / PREP COOK

Snelling Staffing Services – San Antonio is hiring a Food Prep / Prep Cook to join a busy kitchen team. This direct-hire, hands-on role focuses on preparing ingredients, following recipes, and supporting chefs in creating high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.
PAY/SCHEDULE/LOCATION/BENEFITS:
- $14–16/hr – Direct Hire
- Schedule: SUN 8:30am-8PM + MON-THURS 8:30AM-6PM
- San Antonio, TX 78238
FOOD PREP / PREP COOK DUTIES:
- Follow prep lists created by chefs to plan daily duties
- Measure, wash, chop, and organize ingredients for cooking
- Assist with basic cooking tasks such as parboiling, reducing sauces, or assembling simple dishes
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen (washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.)
- Properly label and store ingredients and food items
- Comply with all nutrition, health, and safety guidelines
- Support the kitchen team and perform other duties as assigned
FOOD PREP / PREP COOK REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Manual dexterity to safely operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Patience and positivity under pressure
- Physical endurance for standing, lifting, and kitchen tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary training is a plus
